René Moreau was elected President of Agropur Cooperative on February 10. The Board and the staff of Co‑operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) were pleased to congratulate Mr. Moreau in person at their February 13 Board meeting in Ottawa. Mr. Moreau takes over from Serge Riendeau, who is retiring after heading Agropur’s Board for the past 15 years.
René Moreau is a dairy farmer from Warwick, Quebec who has been a member of Agropur’s Board since 1998, representing the Nicolet-Bois-Francs region. He has served on numerous Agropur committees, and has been a Vice President of Agropur since 2012. He is an agronomist by training and holds a university certificate in corporate governance.
Mr. Moreau has represented Agropur on the Board Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) since June 2015.
“I am gratified by the trust my colleagues have placed in me and excited about continuing Mr. Riendeau’s work,” said René Moreau. “He has left us a co-operative that is in excellent shape. Agropur has seen remarkable growth in recent years and is strongly positioned to continue its development. I am honoured to be able to build on the legacy of our predecessors and I look to the Co-operative’s future with tremendous optimism.”
CMC President Doug Potentier stated “Agropur is in good hands with René Moreau. He is a thoughtful administrator and a well informed co-operative leader in Canada who can continue the great work of Serge Riendeau. It’s not surprise to us that René Moreau was Agropur’s choice, they have consistently sent their finest leaders to serve on CMC’s Board. We look forward to celebrating his accomplishments in his new role.”
Ms. Jeannie van Dyk and Mr. Roger Massicotte are the Vice Presidents.
