The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Hugues Bourgeois as Executive Director at Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada. Hugues is a people-focused leader with the ability to provide strategic oversight, leadership, and support. Hugues previously held the leadership role of Executive Vice President, Risk and Underwriting / Chief Operations Officer at the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, a member-based not-for-profit organization where, in part, he led various roles including Risk Management, Operations, Insurance, HR, Business Development, Claims Management, Legal oversight, IT, and Member Services. Hugues also worked in the regulatory, energy, and financial services sector. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Victoria and completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Victoria in 1998. The Board is confident that Hugues’s leadership, commitment to employee engagement and wealth of experience will support CMC’s work in fulfilling the strategic plan and lead CMC through this transformational period in the organization’s history.
