  • Cynthia Mitchell, Co‑operative Housing Federation of Canada
  • Amanda GilchristAssiniboine Credit Union
  • Lacey Chyz, Arctic Co-operatives Limited

Outgoing Chair Lacey Chyz shared her thoughts on her time with CEC. “It’s an absolute advantage for all Co-ops in Canada to have emerging and experienced leaders working together! It’s been said many times that youth are the future. Well, Canada’s Emerging Co‑operators are working with senior executives and directors to shape the future that will become ours to lead. It’s essential we help influencers in the sector think differently, and inclusively, about youth engagement and leadership. I have been impressed during my tenure as Committee Chair with the true spirit of co-operation among co-operatives, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for CEC and the sector.

Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada Executive Director André Beaudry confirmed the important role that CEC will play in the coming year: “We are excited to get to work with this talented group of co-op leaders and foresee a central role for the committee in building engagement within the sector and also with young leaders from other sectors who are working to support growth in the co-operative economy. Welcome to the team!
