OTTAWA – OCTOBER 7, 2024. Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is proud to announce that the nominations for the 2025 CMC Awards are now open. Each year, CMC honours individuals and organizations working in the Canadian co-operative and mutual sector to recognize their outstanding contribution to the sector. This year, the award ceremony will be held at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina during CMC’s 2025 Congress.
“This year’s awards are a special as 2025 marks the International Year of Co-operatives. Not only are we honouring these passionate individuals and co-operatives across Canada, but we are also celebrating the co-operative and mutual movement as a whole,” says John Kay, Chair of CMC’s Board of Directors.
This year, the awards are as follows:
- Large Co-operative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
- Small Co-operative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
- Environmental Initiative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
- JEDI Initiative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
- Young Co-operator of the Year Award (awarded to an individual)
- Co-operator of the Year Award (awarded to an individual)
The criteria for each award can be found on the application page situated on CMC’s website. The deadline to apply is February 12, 2025. Good luck to all the applicants!
