SUMMARY:Advancing Inclusion and Co-operation with Laurabel Mba presented by NLFC
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an enlightening presentation hosted by Laurabel Mba, founder and owner of an esteemed anti-racism consultancy, as we commemorate Black History Month and delve into the imperative work of fostering inclusivity and equity. Even though February is over, our commitment to understanding Black history shouldn’t be relegated to just one month. That’s why we’re holding this event in March to continue the conversation.\nLaurabel Mba’s consultancy specializes in delivering interactive anti-racism training and facilitating policy creation and review. In this session, tailored for the Newfoundland-Labrador Federation of Co-operatives, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the significance of Black History Month and its role in honouring the remarkable contributions of Black individuals to society.\nThrough dynamic discussions and engaging activities, participants will explore key topics such as allyship, microaggressions, and tokenism. Laurabel Mba, an esteemed expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion, will guide attendees through thought-provoking conversations aimed at challenging biases and dismantling systemic racism.\nThis presentation offers a unique opportunity for cooperatives to enhance their understanding of anti-racism principles and develop actionable strategies for creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces and communities. Join us as we continue to celebrate Black History Month and commit to advancing equity for all.\nThis training session is FREE and open to all co-operative members, participants of the 50-30 Challenge, and community partners interested in learning more about this important topic.\nDetails: Friday, March 8th at 3pm-4:30pm NST\nLocation: Please register in advance by emailing meaghan@nlfc.coop ( mailto:meaghan@nlfc.coop ).
