Jeannie van Dyk has a lifelong career in agriculture. She owns and operates a 100-cow dairy farm with her husband and two sons. She also is a partner with two of her brothers in an 1100-acre wild blueberry business. A graduate of Dalhousie Agricultural campus and MacDonald College, Jeannie holds a BSc. in Agriculture and an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

After university, she worked for five years as swine specialist for the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture before going to full time farming in 1985. Jeannie has served on the Hants Co. Co-op board, Livestock Services Board, Farmer’s Milk Producer Board, and seventeen years (six as Chair) on the Farmers Cooperative Dairy Board of Directors. She joined the Agropur board in 2013 and serves in a vice president role.

Jeannie has been involved in the Nova Scotia Agricultural Awareness program and has given many guest lectures at the local agricultural college. In 2010, she was awarded the FCC Rosemary Davis Award for leadership and commitment to Canadian Agriculture and the agri-food industry.
