It is with great pleasure that we announce that Andrew Scheer, the Speaker of the House of Commons, will co‑host a reception to celebrate the Canadian co-operative sector in collaboration with the All-Party Co‑operative Caucus and Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC).  The reception will take place in the Speakers private dining room on Parliament Hill from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.  The Speaker has agreed to co-host this event with CMC because the reception is bilingual, non-partisan and non-political.

As it will be hosted by the Speaker, protocol and procedures will require working closely with the Speaker’s office as they will be the sole distributor of all written communications, invitations, press releases related to the event.  CMC will provide the Speakers office with an “Off-Hill” guest list, and they will take care of sending the invitation and keeping track of the RSVPs.

It is truly a great privilege to have CMC’s first official parliamentary reception co-hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons. We look forward to a captivating evening as we celebrate the contributions made by the co-operative sector to the well being of communities across Canada with Parliamentarians.
