The Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation (CASC) in collaboration with the Ontario Co-operative Association (ON Co-op), the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la Mutualité (CQCM) and Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) have organised the second edition of the CASC co-op practitioners day on June 4. The event will be held on the campus of the University of Ottawa. CMC president Mr. Léo LeBlanc will be present to deliver the keynote speech.
This event is an opportunity for co-operators, researchers and teachers to meet, exchange views and information and discuss their collaboration and the development of the co-operative sector in the Canada.
The day will focus on the theme of access to capital and the different forms of capital that co-ops need. Questions relating to financing, community involvement, sustainable development and human resources will also be addressed. This event is also an opportunity to network and establish new connections within the co-op movement between teachers and researchers.
