CMC is very pleased to welcome Joanna Hausen, Operations Analyst, to its team.
Joanna will be supporting the Executive Director and other staff in the execution of CMC’s strategic plan. She will also be the main link between the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.
Joanna Hausen is a development professional who has worked in research, project implementation, and operations support for academic institutions, NGOs, and national associations relating to social enterprise and responsible business development. Joanna has a Bachelor’s Degree of International Development and Environmental Studies, with a Diploma in Environmental Assessment from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Master’s Degree of International Public Policy with specializations in environmental and economic policy and relations from the Balsillie School of International Affairs. Joanna is experienced in co-operative development through her work with the Mongolian Co-operative Training and Information Center, Mongolian National Co-operative Association, Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada, and through her committee involvement with Canada’s Emerging Co-operators as the lead of the Emerging Co-operators Education Fund (ECEF) for the past years. Most recently, Joanna has been working on the disaster risk insurance component of a United Nations Development Programme project for Coastal Resilience in Viet Nam. Joanna looks forward to contributing to goals of Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada by employing her skills of policy analysis, strategic planning and tracking, and opportunity alignment. Joanna is excited by the potential for co-operatives and mutuals to continue contributing to democratic decision making, community building, sustainability, and inclusivity for Canadian priorities such as Covid-19 recovery and climate change adaptation.
