Since the beginning of the new year, we’ve been hoping to get through these unprecedented times. As more people are getting vaccinated, we have more reason to hope we’ll be able to be close to one another again. As we prepare ourselves to “get back to normal life,” every society member has a role to play. We are convinced that the co-op business model will have, once again, proven itself by weathering the storm with resilience and stability. With that in mind, Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) invites you to celebrate the co-op difference and your positive impact.

It’s important to promote values of community and peer support within the society so that everyone can benefit from a supportive economic system once again. Co-operatives are built on collaboration. Working together is beneficial and by supporting our community and putting social and environmental values forward, we can rebuild the economy and collective wealth as to become beneficial for everyone.

With a wide array of actions, strategies and analysis that have been put in place within the co-operative and mutualist sector across the country, including the recent Congress “Towards a More Co-operative Economy” and the study on the impact of the pandemic, the stage has been set to start building better together. It’s a great opportunity to highlight and spread awareness about co-operative businesses, as to help them grow and take their rightful place within the economy and our communities.
