We are truly disappointed by the developments surrounding MEC, which has long been Canada’s largest consumer co-operative and a valued member of CMC.

The purpose of this statement is to protect the brand resiliency of the co-op business model, which was brought into question by the acquirer of MEC, suggesting that The transition from a co-operative structure is needed to ensure a stable future for MEC’s retail business.
