Co-operative and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is excited to once again celebrate Co-op Week! From October 13 to October 19, 2024, CMC will highlight this important week with the theme of \u201cInnovating the Co-operative Way.\u201d This theme will help us highlight co-operatives from across Canada and the innovative ways in which they help serve their communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery day, co-operatives from coast to coast to coast find clever solutions to the issues surrounding their communities,\u201d explains Hugues Bourgeois, CMC\u2019s Executive Director. \u201cThroughout CMC\u2019s 2024 Congress, we learned about the different ways some co-operatives have navigated change. It was an incredible display of how innovation is at the heart of the Canadian co-operative movement.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To showcase the innovation within the sector, CMC will be hosting three webinars to introduce you to co-operatives that think outside of the box. Each webinar will be a 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arctic Co-operatives Limited<\/span> \u2014<\/span> Innovating with an Integrated Sustainability Model<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, October 15<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>, at 1\u202fp.m. EST<\/span><\/span><\/strong> Glenn Valliere, a representative of the <\/span><\/span>Governance and Member Relations Team<\/span><\/span>, will present how Arctic Co-operatives Limited innovates using the UN Sustainable Development Goals along with Indigenous models of sustainability.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arctic Co-operatives Limited is a service federation that is owned and controlled by over 30 community-based <\/span>c<\/span>o-operative businesses that <\/span>are located in<\/span> Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and <\/span>Yukon<\/span>.<\/span> This federation was also the <\/span><\/span>proud<\/span> recipient of CMC\u2019s<\/span> 2022<\/span> Large Co-operative of the Y<\/span>ear<\/span> A<\/span>ward<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovating One<\/span> Meal at a<\/span> Time with Radish Cooperative<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n

On Wednesday, October 1<\/span>6<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> at 1<\/span>\u202f<\/span>p<\/span>.m.<\/span><\/strong> EST<\/strong>,<\/span><\/span> Radish <\/span>Cooperative<\/span>, <\/span><\/span>the<\/span> w<\/span>inner of <\/span>CMC\u2019s 2023 <\/span>Small Co-op<\/span>erative of the Year<\/span> Award<\/span><\/span><\/a>, <\/span>will present how they <\/span>created<\/span> their <\/span>innovative co-operative <\/span>platform in Montreal, Quebec<\/span>. <\/span>Radish<\/span> Cooperative<\/span> is an online meal delivery technology co-operative offering technological solutions for the food<\/span> service industry.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

On Thursday, October 17<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span>, at 1<\/span>\u202f<\/span>p<\/span>.m.<\/span> EST<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>Retournzy<\/span> coop, the <\/span>recipient of CMC\u2019s <\/span><\/span>2024 <\/span>Environmental Initiative of the Year A<\/span>ward<\/span><\/span><\/a>, will present their unique journey <\/span>in creating a co-operative that<\/span> uses <\/span>the <\/span>circular economy <\/span>model <\/span>to offer a sustainable containers solution for <\/span>the <\/span>catering, event, corporate and institutional sectors. Discover their <\/span>new exciting projects and their innovative approach to sustainability.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Contest: Learning Innovation the Co-operative Way<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

CMC wants to encourage co-operators to participate in the three webinars during the 2024 Co-op Week! To participate in this contest, you only need to register and attend one or all the webinars throughout the week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A winner will be drawn from the list of participants of all the webinars and the winner will receive a $100 certificate to their favourite co-operative. <\/p>\n\n\n
