Congress 2026 is set to be a landmark gathering.<\/strong> As Canada continues to navigate rapid economic change, CMC is embracing this moment to showcase how our sector is building resilient economies grounded in community well\u2011being. Under the theme \u201cPower the Economy,\u201d<\/strong> Congress 2026 will highlight how co\u2011operatives strengthen local economies while supporting the prosperity and stability of communities across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From leading voices in economic development to sessions and workshops exploring emerging business and social trends, storytelling and advocacy, Congress 2026 will equip attendees with the insight and energy needed to help shape a more inclusive, innovative, and future\u2011ready economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPower the Economy\u201d <\/strong>emphasizes the vital role of co-operatives in driving sustainable economic growth and uplifting communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CMC\u2019s Congress 2026 will take place at York University from June 8 to 10, 2026, beginning with a Partner Day on June 8. Most Congress activities\u2014including the opening reception on June 8 and meetings on June 9 and 10\u2014will be held in the Accolade East building on the Keele Campus. The main Congress programming will run on June 9, followed by the CMC AGM on the morning of June 10. The Congress Gala will take place at the Schulich Executive Learning Centre and Conference Centre, located a short walk from Accolade East. Following the AGM, organized visits to Guelph and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will offer attendees a first-hand look at how co\u2011operatives are making an impact in the region. Please note that registration for Congress 2026 is offered on an \u201c\u00e0 la carte\u201d basis, allowing participants to register for the full event or only the specific sessions or segments they wish to attend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodations and Getting to York University <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Congress participants are responsible for booking their own accommodations. Limited rooms are available at the on\u2011campus hotel, with additional options nearby due to the campus\u2019s proximity to the airport and Subway Line 1 (Toronto\u2013York Spadina Extension). Low\u2011cost campus residence rooms will also be available for summer bookings<\/a>; while no room block is held for CMC, individuals may book directly using the Accommodation Request form<\/a>. The campus is easily accessible from downtown via Subway Line 1 (Union Station to York University Station) or by car, and from Pearson International Airport by public transit or taxi\u2014CMC recommends Co\u2011op Cabs<\/a>. French\u2011language support is not currently available, though this may change as summer student staff are hired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
