Large co-operative of the year Award<\/span><\/h1>\n

The Large Co-operative of the Year Award honors Canadian co\u2010operative and\/or mutual organizations that have made significant contributions to co\u2010operatives and\/or mutuals in Canada and\/or internationally.<\/p>\n

The following criteria will be considered:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Innovation<\/strong>: The way by which the organization developed, created and\/or introduced a new idea, product, service, approach, process, method to the co\u2010operative and\/or mutual movement that was ground\u2010breaking and met market<\/li>\n
  2. Impact: <\/strong>The method by which the nominee\u2019s innovation achieved identifiable, positive and lasting changes within co\u2010operatives and\/or<\/li>\n
  3. Recognition<\/strong>: The national and\/or international recognition that the organization being nominated received for its work relating to co\u2010operatives and\/or<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Committee will differentiate between a large and a small co-operative based on:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • National\/International vs Provincial\/Regional<\/li>\n
    • The number of members<\/li>\n
    • The number of employees<\/li>\n
    • Financial information<\/li>\n
    • Other factors deemed important by the Committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The recipient of the Large Co\u2010operative of the Year Award must be a member of CMC or a member of a CMC member.<\/p>\n

      A sponsor must submit an award nomination form outlining the contributions of the organization being nominated. The endorsement should relate to more than one of the criteria. Each nomination must be accompanied by a minimum of two (2) letters of support.<\/p>\n

      Award Nomination forms must be received by CMC by the deadline provided in the Call for Award Nominations (at least 120 days before the CMC event where the award will be presented). Please note that the deadline is subject to change.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      Last year\u2019s nominations are automatically considered and can be updated or withdrawn by the sponsor or the nominee.<\/p>\n

      The CMC Nominations and Awards Committee will review award nominations for the CMC Co\u2010operative of the Year Award (large and small) and bring a recommendation to the CMC Board. \u00a0A recommendation only be made if the Nominations and Awards Committee deems that the criteria for this special recognition have been met to the satisfaction of the Committee.<\/p>\n
