Notably, the largest investment in co-operative housing development for the first time in 30 years, has been the highlight of this budget\u2019s iteration. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very pleased that, through Budget 2022, the Government recognized the crucial role that co-operatives can play in addressing the housing crisis in Canada,\u201d explains Hugues Bourgeois, Executive Director.  \u201cWe congratulate the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada and its allies for their advocacy and awareness efforts. They provide a solution that directly impacts the affordability of homes and the strength of communities.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Although CMC recognizes the potential impact of certain measures, work still needs to be done to continue to advocate for the co-operative sector in Canada. <\/span>In collaboration with its national membership and stakeholders, CMC will continue to promote a more co-operative economy. This includes continued awareness efforts and advocating for the removal of obstacles to accessing the business infrastructure of government. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
