And many of the institutions that once promised predictability no longer&nbsp;feel&nbsp;as reliable as they used to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To better understand what Canadians are experiencing \u2014 and what&nbsp;they\u2019re&nbsp;looking for next \u2014&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/canada.coop\/en\/\">Co\u2011operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC)<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chfcanada.coop\/?_gl=1%2Am8o2ld%2A_ga%2AOTI2MDczNzI2LjE3NDcwOTI2ODQ.%2A_ga_KKGH0F70ZF%2AczE3NzM5MzkyNjUkbzIyJGcxJHQxNzczOTM5MjcwJGo1NSRsMCRoMA..\">CHF Canada<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;partnered with&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abacusdata.ca\/\">Abacus Data<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;on new national research. The study asked a simple but urgent question:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does stability mean to Canadians today \u2014 and who do they trust to deliver it?<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The answers are clear \u2014 and&nbsp;they\u2019re&nbsp;grounded in data.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Key Finding #1: Many Canadians feel&nbsp;they\u2019re&nbsp;losing control over their lives.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly half of Canadians say life feels more unpredictable than it used to.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That feeling shows up in very real ways \u2014 anxiety about paying bills, securing housing, and whether institutions are acting in people\u2019s best interests.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Key Finding #2: Canadians want stability, not disruption.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadians&nbsp;aren\u2019t&nbsp;asking for constant change.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ninety percent say essentials like housing and good jobs feel harder to secure than they used to, and 86% say the systems they rely on feel less stable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Key Finding #3: Canadians want more co\u2011operatives \u2014 and want in.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Support for the co\u2011operative model is strong and active.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seventy\u2011one percent of Canadians want to see more co-operatives, credit unions, <em>caisses<\/em> and mutuals&nbsp;operating&nbsp;in Canada, and when current members are combined with those interested in joining,&nbsp;roughly 70%&nbsp;of Canadians are already part of \u2014 or open to \u2014 the co\u2011operative model.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taken together, the research points to something bigger: at a time when life feels harder to control, Canadians are gravitating toward institutions rooted in shared responsibility, community stability, and long\u2011term commitment.&nbsp;That\u2019s&nbsp;exactly what co\u2011operatives are built to deliver.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s&nbsp;the research in more&nbsp;detail:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Finding #1: Many Canadians feel&nbsp;they\u2019re&nbsp;losing control&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly&nbsp;<strong>half&nbsp;of Canadians say life feels more unpredictable than it used to<\/strong>.
