It’s hard to believe that as I write this, we are only days away from our 2023 Congress! So much time has flown past since its announcement back in December, and now we are working hard on finalizing all the little details before the big day. CMC has organized a spectacular 3-day event with various panels, interesting guests, and great networking opportunities. Not only that, but we are also excited to welcome three new members of the CMC family and we cannot wait to introduce them to you at Congress.
Our two new regular members are the Prince Edward Island Co-operative Council (PEICC) and Many Nations Co-operative Ltd , who are joined with our new auxiliary member the Institut international des coopératives Alphonse-et-Dorimène-Desjardins of HEC Montréal.
The PEICC is the hub organization for the Prince Edward Island’s more than 100 co-operatives and mutuals, and Many Nations Co-operative Ltd. is a member-owned, First Nations-focused co-operative that provides quality, affordable, and culturally relevant group insurance and retirement plans to its members. The Institut exists to promote the place and role of co-operatives in the economy and society, and to shed light on the practices, policies and actions required to ensure the sector remains vibrant and sustainable. The Institut has developed the world’s largest open access digital library on cooperatives and mutuals, CoopGateway, which houses thousands of documents on a wide array of subjects of interest to our sector. I encourage you to learn all about our newest members further in our newsletter and to give them a warm welcome into the CMC family!
As mentioned, we are finalizing the details of our 2023 Congress.
