CO-OPERATIVES AND MUTUALS CANADA
What Do We Do?
Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is a member-driven association that supports and represents Canadian co-operatives and mutual businesses by working with key players in the co-operative sector and government.
We help develop and promote the interests Canada’s small, medium, and large Canadian co-operative businesses. Our vision is to build and work with this community, as well as contributing to its economic, social and political development.
About CMC’s Members
Canadian co-operative businesses of all sizes, operating in all business sectors
Canada’s largest financial and non-financial co-operatives and mutuals
Provincial and territorial co-operative associations
Foundations and corporate partners of the co-operative sector
- Research on public policies,
- Engagement and networking opportunities,
- And the development of professional and educational services for members.
CMC also collaborates with other organizations that have common goals and interests. This primarily includes entities with a focus on Community Economic Development and those promoting the economic participation of underrepresented groups. In addition, CMC recognizes that there are youth-related projects, as well as entities such as Rotating savings and credit associations, that are not incorporated as co-operative enterprises per se, but who are integral parts of the Canadian and international social and solidarity economy.
Every day, we proudly contribute to the reach and promote the importance of a strong and sustainable co-op business model in our communities.
