The snow is officially gone, the sun is shining, and the weather is warming up—spring is here! This welcomed change is reminding me that summer is just around the corner, and so is our 2023 Congress!
Although this has been a quieter month for us, the CMC Team has been steadfastly continuing their work to bring you exciting content for our 2023 Congress. We are now able to confirm that a very special screening of the incredible film Atautsikut/Leaving None Behind will be held at the Congress on Monday, June 12th. You will find the movie synopsis here and can find the registration link here. I look forward to seeing you all at the screening as well as the Q&A discussion afterwards.
Throughout Congress, CMC will also be proudly showcasing research projects from the co-operative sector in an exhibition. To this end, we invite you to submit a poster highlighting your exciting academic findings. This year, all posters will be unilingual to maximize space for graphics and text; our Team will be in charge of doing the poster mock-up and translation. If you are interested in exhibiting your research at our Congress, please submit your work by May 15, 2023.
Lastly, earlier this month CMC was pleased to take part in the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)’s 2023 Legislative Review stakeholder consultation. CMC was part of the in-person Ottawa session that took place in late 2022 and we were glad to have this opportunity to reiterate our perspectives on how BDC can better serve the co-operative sector. Check out our written submission here.
Now, I leave you with this month’s newsletter and look forward to touching base again in a month to highlight more of CMC’s outstanding work.
