Co-op Week
Celebrating the co-operatives powering Canada's economy
Every year, Co-op Week brings together co-operatives, credit unions, caisses, and mutuals from across Canada to celebrate their impact on members, communities, and the economy.
This year, Co-op Week runs from October 11-17 and is built around the theme Power the Economy, inspired by the forthcoming Power the Economy Report 2026: Canada’s Co-operative Advantage, which will be released on October 11.
The theme highlights the important role co-operatives, credit unions, caisses, and mutuals play in communities across the country and provides an opportunity to showcase the many ways they contribute to a stronger, more resilient economy.
At a time when conversations about economic prosperity, affordability, and community resilience are more important than ever, Co-op Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of Canada’s co-operative economy and help tell the stories behind its impact.
Co-op Week Toolkit
The 2026 Co-op Week Toolkit has been designed to help members showcase the impact of co-operatives in communities across Canada and amplify the key themes explored in the Power the Economy Report 2026: Canada’s Co-operative Advantage (to be released on October 11).
Based on the report’s findings, the toolkit includes:
- Suggested social media content
- Photos and campaign graphics
- Infographics
- Key messages
- Facts, statistics, and quotes
Whether you’re a housing co-op, agricultural co-op, worker co-op, consumer co-op, credit union, caisse, or mutual, the toolkit provides resources you can adapt for your organization and community to help tell your story and raise the visibility of Canada’s co-operative economy.

Let’s make some noise.
Co-op Week is an opportunity to celebrate the organizations that are helping power Canada’s economy every day and to share the stories, people, and communities behind their success.
Join us from October 11-17 as we celebrate the impact of co-operatives, credit unions, caisses, and mutuals across Canada.
You may notice that this year’s toolkit and Power the Economy Report 2026 feature the new Canada Co-op branding.
Beginning October 11, Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada will officially become Canada Co-operative Business Association, with the public-facing name Canada Co-op.
While our name and visual identity are changing, our purpose remains the same: representing and championing Canada’s co-operatives, credit unions, caisses, and mutuals.
Our new identity reflects the organizations we serve and our commitment to helping build a stronger, more visible co-operative economy across Canada.
