Code of Conduct for CMC’s Congress
Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) believes in respect and equality. As such, CMC aims to ensure every participant at Congress can enjoy a safe, respectful, equitable, and diverse environment.
No type of harassment will be tolerated during Congress. Harassment includes but is not limited to: comments using demeaning, derogatory, or discriminatory language; comments intended to cause offense harm to others; deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
If you see someone behaving disrespectfully, we encourage you to reach out to via Whova or at the registration table. The CMC team will listen and work to resolve all matters as soon as possible.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the CMC team may take any action it deems appropriate depending on the circumstances, ranging from issuing a warning to the offending individual to expulsing the offending individual from Congress 2025 with no refund, to bans from further CMC events, and to legal action if necessary.
Please respect and follow these guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all Congress participants.
