OTTAWA, DATE. Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is proud to announce that the nominations for the 2024 CMC Awards are now open. Each year, CMC honours individuals and organizations working in the Canadian co-operative and mutual sector to recognize their outstanding contribution to the sector. For 2024, CMC will be continuing its commitment to JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) and environmental priorities, keeping last year’s new additions of the Environmental Initiative of the Year Award and the JEDI Initiative of the Year Award.

“Our sector is filled with so many talented individuals and organizations who demonstrate an immense dedication to our ecosystem and its values. We are proud to continue to highlight them and showcasing the incredible work that Canadian co-operatives and mutuals have accomplished,” says Hugues Bourgeois, Executive Director of CMC.

This year, the awards are as follows:

  • Large Co-operative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
  • Small Co-operative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
  • Environmental Initiative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
  • JEDI Initiative of the Year Award (awarded to an organization)
  • Young Co-operator of the Year Award (awarded to an individual)
  • Co-operator of the Year Award (awarded to an individual)

The criteria for each award can be found on the application page situated on CMC’s website. The deadline to apply is February 9, 2024. Good luck to all the applicants!
