Government Relations
Co-operatives play an important economic role in Canada. Federal policies, legislation, and regulation directly impact the vitality of
co-operatives. CMC works to ensure co-operatives have a clear voice within the corridors of power.
CMC facilitates opportunities for their members to partner with the federal government. We monitor government activities and emerging issues, and meet regularly with parliamentarians and civil servants.
CMC communicates rapidly and regularly with members to keep them informed and to encourage their participation. We also work with our members to develop positions and recommendations aimed at shaping government policy and programs.
